Lyn McDermid

Lyn McDermid brings vast knowledge and experience to the administration. At a young age, Lyn was the first woman accepted to the Apprentice School at Newport News Shipbuilding. She received a B.A. from Mary Baldwin College and an MBA from the University of Richmond.

From 2013-2020, Lyn worked at the Federal Reserve System as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of Federal Reserve Information Technology (FRIT). There, she oversaw the Federal Reserve System IT strategy, IT investment and spending, and enterprise cyber security. She also directed the management of national IT operations, project services, and enterprise architecture and standards. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, she served as senior vice president and chief information officer at Richmond-based Fortune 500 company.

Lyn has served on several boards including Chair of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mary Baldwin College, Chair of the Board of the Greater Richmond Technology Council, and currently Chair of the ChildFund International Board.

Her commitment to education is reflected in long-standing support of Reynolds Community College, University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University. She also serves on the IT visiting committee for Harvard University.

Lyn was named to the Computerworld’s list of Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2004, received the 2008 Executive Women in Business Achievement Award, was recognized as one of the Richmond YWCA’s 2010 Outstanding Women, and was honored with the RichTech Chairman’s Award in 2013. She co-founded the Richmond Women in Technology group and is honored with the naming of their annual recognition of women technologists as the Margaret “Lyn” McDermid awards.

Rebecca Haydock is the Director of the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center, investor and screening committee member of Charlottesville Angel Network, and continues to be an owner and operator of businesses. After graduating from Cornell University and subsequently starting and selling her second business, she worked in economic development specializing in access to capital in New York, consulted in government contracting and business development in North Carolina, and moved on to New Jersey to manage a portfolio of 20 early stage technology companies as a Director at Technology Management & Funding. Rebecca left TMF to become COO of two biotech companies in Virginia, one of which sold to a pharmaceutical company. Rebecca is a Certified Global Business Professional and specializes in growth strategy and infrastructure, contract preparedness, strategic alliances, and equity capital. Her experience focuses primarily on high growth-oriented early-stage businesses. As Director of CV SBDC she guides organizational excellence, sustainable business practices, and building of operational infrastructure for growth with an emphasis on acquiring human and financial assets.

Dan Myers

Dan Myers is Co-Founder & Managing Director of 42Phi Ventures, a Silicon Valley based VC firm investing in Seed to Series A companies that enable people to thrive. Dan serves Virginia startups as a mentor in the SBDC’s ICAP program. Previously, Dan was the Founding Director of Runway, acquired in 2017, which served as an innovation hub in San Francisco where he led startup incubation yielding more than 54 exits in 5 years and provided innovation services to Global 500 companies. Dan was also previously the co-Founder & CEO of Vallit, acquired in 2015, which developed technology around dynamic pricing for e-commerce. Additionally, Dan has designed and managed nationally recognized startup accelerator programs, supported Fortune 100 companies to identify, engage & acquire startups, and helped build one of the largest startup competitions in the world with finalists pitching to Sir Richard Branson.

Tracey Greene

Tracey is a passionate advocate for the power of tech and innovation-based entrepreneurship to drive economic growth and social impact. As the Executive Director of the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC), Tracey leads the organization’s efforts to support and promote the growth of the greater Charlottesville region’s technology and innovation sectors. CBIC is a non-profit organization that brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and academics to foster collaboration and drive economic development.

Tracey is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Charlottesville Angel Network (CAN), an organization that connects investors with promising early-stage companies. Through CAN, Tracey has helped to fund and grow a number of successful startups in the Charlottesville area, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the east coast, and beyond including companies in the healthcare, software, and consumer goods industries. Tracey has served as a mentor and advisor to numerous startups and entrepreneurs, is a frequent speaker at conferences and events focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, and has been recognized for her contributions to the regional business community and beyond.

Meg Pryde

Meg Pryde is the founder and CEO of Brandefy. The Brandefy app compares high end beauty products to more affordable options and has been downloaded over 500,000 times. Meg launched the Brandefy app while at the Darden School of Business, where she was a Genovese Fellow.
